Personal Injury Law

“My sister is a law professor in Chicago. I asked her what she thought and she said she would see if she could get me a referral. She asked one of the most prestigious law firms in the Chicago area for a Milwaukee referral and they referred me to Frank.”

Asbestosis is an asbestos caused lung disease.  Asbestosis results from chronic inhalation and exposure to asbestos fibers in humans.

Asbestosis is a diffuse fibrous scarring of the lungs.  Asbestos fibers are very sharp, like needles, and as they move in the lungs they penetrate the tissue repeatedly, gradually scarring the lungs.  The symptoms of asbestosis include shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, and coughing.  Asbestosis is a progressive disease, i.e., the severity of symptoms tends to increase with time, even after the exposure has stopped.  In severe cases, this disease can lead to death, due to impairment of respiratory function.

Asbestosis is a disease suffered by many individuals in Wisconsin.  Wisconsin asbestos sites include breweries, mills, power plants, utility operations, nuclear energy plants, utility construction facilities, hospitals, universities and colleges, and many other locations.  Asbestosis caused exposure at Wisconsin facilities occurs in indoor air where asbestos was released from materials.  Asbestosis caused exposure may also be related to service in U.S. armed forces especially Navy related asbestosis.

Asbestosis is not the only disease caused by asbestos.  Asbestos is also known to cause a rare lung cancer, mesothelioma.
